After considerable debate, I have decided not to continue with on-line plant sales due largely to the huge amount of space and time required coupled to the expensive and unreliable postal service. You the reader are also to blame as you trawl the Internet for cheaper and cheaper, never better and better. I cannot be the best and the cheapest.
As a very early adopter of the Internet I've had this website for well over a decade in various guises to the extent that it is well known throughout the world. Fast, reliable and limit-free web servers cost money and now I seek an alternative method of raising an income. The basic choices are direct sales, banner ads from the World's biggest crooks, subsriptions from visitors looking for free lunch, or sponsorship.
My wish is to keep this site as a free resource to be read by anyone at any time and to that end seeking donations from visitors is not planned although I may require a subscription for an additional service that has been in planning and development stage for several years. Visitors can now breathe a sigh of relief as I will not be patting them down at the front door to lighten their wallets or purses.
That leaves sponsorship as the way forward. Would your business benefit from a presence on this website?

New year, new layout.
Welcome to the long overdue revamp of Blue Wisteria. Now the conversion is complete, navigation should be much simpler than previously, with search facilities to bring this garden website into the 21st. Century. There is still some work to do but the basic system is now operational.
Two complete sections of the old site have now been shifted to their very own sites to reduce the clutter and reduce server loading. For those of you who may be looking for these pages they may be found here:
The mainstay of the site remains the flower gallery which is now database driven. This changeover has taken many months of work and well over a year to plan so I do hope you enjoy it. Now you can view flowers at random or create a gallery of plants meeting selected attributes.

No matter how hard we try, there is always something in the garden doing its level best to spoil everything. The Pests section will help you to keep up to date with the various pests and diseases likely to be a problem during the current week. There is still some work to do on the pest search facility but it is in basic operation.
Current Gardening Tasks.
This section of the web-site has its focus on the 'Hows', 'Wheres', 'Whens', 'Whys' and 'what with' aspects of attending to the upkeep of a typical English suburban garden. Pages cover many specific gardening tasks with concise instructions describing the task with plenty of photos.
When tasks are performed in a methodical manner, the workload is kept to a minimum. My system should enable most people to keep their suburban garden in good order in about 2-3 hours per week. Why not check out how many tasks you have missed This month in the Garden.
